Samundra Man Singh Shrestha

Contemporary Paubha artist, Samundra Man Singh Shrestha (born in 1980) has taken a course in Traditional Paubha painting at Nepal Association of Traditional Artists under the guidance of Senior Paubha artist, Prem Man Chitrakar.

Contemporary Paubha artist, Samundra Man Singh Shrestha (born in 1980) has taken a course in Traditional Paubha painting at Nepal Association of Traditional Artists under the guidance of Senior Paubha artist, Prem Man Chitrakar. He has participated in several group shows including India Art Fair 2016 and won multiple awards; selected are National Award in 28th National arts exhibition org  by NAFA 1997; Best Craftman of the year 1999 on the Thangka competition org by CRAFTMEN FOUNDATION INC-USA; Second position in the  National arts exhibition org by NAFA in 2000 and in 2001; First Position in paintings competition sponsored by Association of Lumbini on the occasion of the 50th anniversary in diplomatic relation establishment between  Japan & Nepal in 2006. He is one of the Lead participants of the group of traditional artists to do mural paintings at the Tara Foundation a German Monastery at Lumbini in 2002.

ACHIEVEMENTS

1994: First prize in paintings competition organized by: Juddhodya secondary school, Kathmandu, Nepal on the occasion of annual ceremony.

1995: First prize in environment art competition organized by N.G.O. Environmental Management Program I.U.C.N. The world conservation union.

1995: Second Runner Up in the painting competition organized by NEPAL- ISRAEL Friendship Association and the Embassy of ISRAEL

1997: NATIONAL AWARD – Commanded prize 28th National art and craft exhibition & competition  organized by N.A.F.A on the auspicious occasion of  HIS MAJESTY KING BIRENDRA BIR BIKRAM SHAH DEV  53rd birthday.

1999: Best Craftman of the year 1999 on the Thangka competition organized by CRAFTMEN FOUNDATION INC – USA.

2000: First position in Nationwide open landscape paintings competition organized by SANTI YUBA CLUB (Patan Dhoka, Nepal).

2000: NATIONAL AWARD – Second Prize in 31st National art and craft Exhibition organized by N.A.F.A. in the TRADITIONAL  Paintings.

2001:  NATIONAL AWARD – Second Prize in 32nd  National art and craft Exhibition organized by N.A.F.A.  in the craft  section.

2004: Winning Award in the Camlin Art Foundation Fifth Eastern Region Art Exhibition 2004 at Kolkata,     INDIA.

2006 : Participated in Prize distribution program in Japan and Winning First Position in paintings  competition sponsored by Association of Lumbini (Nepal) on the Occasion of the 50th anniversary in diplomatic relation establishment between  Japan and Nepal.

2012: Hemganga Yuva  Prathiva  Puraskar- in the traditional art  field organized by Nepal  Commercial Artist Association.

2016: Nominated as a “Newsmaker of the year 2073” from the art field by Nepal National weekly newspaper – saptahik.

2017:  Awarding as a Creative Artist Special Award B.C. 2074, org by Arupan Gallery Nepal.

2017: NATIONAL AWARD – First Prize in National Exhibition of Fine Arts -2017
