The cultural events of Kathmandu influence the artist in this painting. The events, characters, deities of Indra-Jatra and people watching every performance are depicted in the foreground of the painting in distorted form. They are not imitated directly but artistically they are picked by artist-like flowers from the garden and transformed in the stage-like background of Kathmandu Durbar Square. The colours are joyous as the artist himself enjoys the rituals performed during this festival.
