2023Navindra Man Rajbhandari incorporates forms with the modern representation of a mass of colours on his canvas. In the series ‘Pancha Tattva’ (Five Elements), he uses five shades of colours, objectifying them Prithvi (the earth), Agni (fire), Jal (water), Vāyu (air), and ākāsha (ether) that construct existence according to Vedic philosophy. His prime motive is to express the theme in abstract forms to relish the eyes of the viewers. The artist believes that the creation of art should appease the eyes of its beholder. He feels if his piece gives some ‘optical pleasure’ to the spectator, it would satisfy him greatly.
